So, you’ve watched Cucumber / Banana on Channel 4 and are intrigued… Or perhaps you’ve heard about it in the office and are curious. Or maybe you’ve just stumbled across this post and wonder what I’m going on about. Well, wonder no more! Channel 4 have released a new series called Banana (which is part of a bigger group of series, Cucumber Banana Tofu, that all tie in together) and in the opening scenes, the protagonist Dean (played by the talented Fisayo Akinade) drops his trousers to reveal his penis locked into a chastity device.

The beginning of the programme starts with introducing Dean as a lovable, sexual young guy with a sense of humour and after about 2 minutes has him showing off his chastity device to all his friends and work colleagues. This is a big deal, for me at least, as I’ve had a fetish for chastity for many years but it’s hardly ever mentioned on British television, if ever. Chastity devices have been mentioned on TV in the USA a couple of times. There’s this funny scene from Family Guy where Peter is trying to abstain from sex, for example:
There was a scene where Peter actually wore a chastity device, but I couldn’t find it on YouTube. On a slightly more serious note, there was this scene from Californication:
But British TV? With our stiff upper lips and give nothing away attitude? I can’t remember having seen one as much as hinted at. So from my point of view, as a person who is into kinky fetishes such as chastity, this is awesome! It means that people will be exposed to a fetish that I’ve enjoyed for years and may become curious. Hopefully it’ll lead to lots of others, at the very least, trying it out. It also means that if my chastity device is ever seen by anyone in public then there’s now a chance (albeit a very small one) that they’ve seen the show and know what it is!

Chastity is an amazing fetish. Most people think it’s some kind of punishment or chore, but it isn’t. It’s amazing. The feelings I receive from abstaining from orgasm are just sublime. Guys feel aroused right up until the point where they orgasm, then everything is reset to zero. They’re no longer turned on and in order to become even remotely aroused they have to wait again for the feelings to kick in. Well, what if they didn’t orgasm. What if they didn’t masturbate every evening? What if they abstained from orgasms altogether? Would the feelings of arousal increase and increase? Yes. Yes they would. Which is why, outside of British television, chastity is an immensely popular fetish.
Of course, you don’t need a device to start playing. You could just stop masturbating, or ask your partner to stop. You could limit orgasms to once a week, or once a fortnight. Maybe once a month. But adding a device to the mix is very sexy, as young Dean finds out in the TV show.
